Voting for Commonwealth's Attorney This year

There are a lot of important elections this summer: Primary elections for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Charlottesville City Council, and—most importantly—Charlottesville Commonwealth’s Attorney. Register to Vote

You can register to vote in the 2021 Democratic Primary by May 18, 2021. Here are instructions to register to vote, or check and update your registration.

Early Voting

WHEN: City voters can vote early on weekdays from April 23–June 5 from 8:30 a.m.—4:30 p.m., and May 29 and June 5 from 8:30 a.m.—5:00 p.m.
WHERE: Early voting will happen at the City Hall Annex on the Downtown Mall (120 7th St NE, Charlottesville, VA 22902)

Absentee Voting

WHEN: Starting on April 23, you can request an absentee ballot from the City of Charlottesville.
WHERE: You can deliver your absentee ballot in a few ways:

  1. Put the ballot in the mail
  2. Deliver it to the City Hall Annex on the Downtown Mall (120 7th St NE, Charlottesville, VA 22902)
  3. Deliver it to a polling place on Election Day (June 8, 2021)

Voting on Election Day

WHEN: You can vote on Election Day (June 8, 2021) from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m.
